Her mother, Erica Robinson confirmed her death through social media. She posted information on the death on her social media accounts. The message shared information about the death of her daughter. It stated that the daughter of her mother, who was aged 18 was shot. A picture of the girl taken with the wife of her father's former husband was as well. Wearing matching red T-shirts both women appear to be standing in front of one another. Officials from the Jackson Police Department confirmed Gatlin's death occurred on Barnes Street.
